Euryanthe Tickets

Euryanthe is the name of an opera based on the libretto by Helmina von Chézy. The German composer Carl Maria Von Weber set the libretto to music. The first performance of the opera Euryanthe in 1823 set the tone for a new operatic genre, taking into account that this opera was uninterrupted by any spoken dialogue. Although Euryanthe had great potential, it was not received as well as expected, being overshadowed by the popularity of Italian opera’s at the time. In the 20th century, Euryanthe was however revived by several important composers, finally bringing it the public acclaim it deserved. Euryanthe Opera

Euryanthe is said to resemble the opera Lohengrin, a famed opera by Richard Wagner. In spite of this resemblance, the opera Euryanthe was largely ignored by opera conaisseurs of the 19th century due to its suppossedly weak libretto and extended length. In the 20th century, Euryanthe became increasingly popular: this beautiful opera, which is considered to be one of Von Weber’s masterpieces, has survived the centuries and is to be staged anew shortly. Euryanthe opera tickets are once again available! The Euryanthe opera has many unexpected turns of plot: in the opening scene the Count Adolar sings in praise of his bride-to-be, Euryanthe. Another count, Lysiart, contests Euryanthe’s fidelity and claims that he can win her love instead. The subsequent events involve Eglantine, the secret admirer of Adolar, assisted by the same Lysiart. Eglantine betrays her friend Euryanthe by proving Euryanthe’s unfaithfulness. This has the intended effect: Adolar is enraged at this fact and intends to kill Euryanthe. Will this virtuous maiden be spared? You can find out by obtaining your very own Euryanthe opera tickets at Worldticketshop.com - Your Ticket
