Miles Davis Songs
Could it be that you are looking to go to a performance of Miles Davis songs? Alas, the great American jazz trumpeter passed away in 1991 after a life filled with bebop, cool jazz, jazz-funk and ultimately contemporary jazz. What Miles Dewey Davis III, or simply Miles, achieved in his lifetime in the world of jazz will probably never be matched in terms of sheer virtuosity, depth and volume. Indeed, he can be classed in the same league as legends like Louis Armstrong and Duke Ellington! 1954 saw the release of the seminal ‘Birth of the Cool’ album which featured none other than Dizzy Gillespie and introduced the world at large to Davis’s cool jazz which is simple and sparse, rather than fast and intricate. The Miles Davis discography is virtually inexhaustible containing such classics in the genre as ‘Miles Ahead’, ‘Porgy And Bess’ and ‘Sketches of Spain’, albums recorded with seminal quintets featuring fellow jazz greats like John Coltrane, Julian Cannonball Adderley and Bill Evans. Have you never been to a Miles Davis concert? Would you love to go and watch Miles-influenced jazz musicians perform live? While we no longer have Miles Davis tickets available for you, exclusive tickets for Herbie Hancock -who is not at all unfamiliar with Miles Davis’s “So What”, for instance- are available here at Worldticketshop.com - Your Ticket to Fun!
Miles Davis Tour
A typical Miles Davis tour in the past featured a variety of highly skilled jazz musicians handpicked by the late great bandleader-composer himself. Someone who often accompanied the jazz legend on tour is John Coltrane, who also happens to have inspired one of the many famous Miles Davis quotes; during a long-ago gig Miles was of the opinion Coltrane played too long a solo. A shaky apology by the latter followed upon which Miles replied; “Try taking that thing out of yo’ mouth!” Jazz saxophonist John Coltrane was also involved with the maestro at the end of the fifties during the recording of Miles Davis’s ‘Kind of Blue’ and ‘Milestones’ which are still considered quintessential albums in the history of jazz. Indeed, a lot of tracks from these albums ended up as live staples and were performed at many a Miles Davis concert! Tickets for his shows in the late 1960s and 1970s enabled aficionados to see Davis team up with British guitarist John McLaughlin to perform his Jimi Hendrix-inspired jazz fusion for which he used an electric trumpet which he played through a wah-wah pedal! Indeed, Miles’s courage and creativity in the genre of jazz and beyond are undisputed and not for nothing was he inducted in the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame in 2006! Unfortunately, it is not possible to go and visit a Miles Davis concert. Tickets for his many imitators, however, are on offer here at Worldticketshop.com - Your Ticket to Fun!
